Andrew what a lovely study - reminds me of a Klimt - the colours and mixture are stupendous - i have always loved perspective that allows the viewer to wander along the pathway

Thankyou for your generous comments !

Reminds me of when i went to Giverny to Monets garden and the path leading to his house...lovely colours

Beautiful, reminds me of fine tapestry work.

I like the style and I do agree about the wandering along the pathway, wonder what is round the bend? I wonder whether a little more dark on the beginning of the pathway and some shadow here would add depth? Otherwise lovely, quite impressionistic in style

Agree with the last comment, but wouldn't try altering this one.... you could easily lose the wonderful freshness you've accomplished. I'd be happy with this as it stands, but the great thing is, you can have another go and incorporate Ruth's suggestion. This painting reminds me of why I love oil paint - it's so succulent!
