Like this a lot. I always think they look very strange when they do this dance!

Like a lot Denise the figures are very well drawn and painted you have caught the action of bouncing up and down really well. Leaving the background uncluttered has lead to the focus on the dancers as it should be . Another excellent painting for your gallery.

Love a well painted picture that also educates and tells a story Denise.

Love how high they can jump. I read a lot of Wilbur Smith books, always found tribes and their cultures interesting Denise.

Thank you for the interesting facts. Like how you’ve made them bounce up and down and the colours and shadows Denise.

Thanks for your kind comments David, Paul, Chris, Carole and Carole.

Excellent work here, Denise

Adamu is one of the traditional dances of the Maasai people. Red is an important colour for the tribe as it represents cow blood which they drink mixed with milk. The Maasai spit on the heads of their new born to ward off bad luck. I enjoyed painting this this afternoon as I learned about the Maasai culture as I did it.
