You have a nice Portfolio Nick --- But be a good fellow and read the top of gallery page, it tells you there about how many postings each day.---- DO NOT stop posting though

Hi Charles, thanks for your comments, I probably did over do it to start, glad you like the old Norton I've done a few AJS's my stepfather was in the AJS club old bikes just look better than the new ones

I do like this one - it looks to me as if you've used traditional dip pens, which give this variety of line that a rigid-tip pen, however brilliantly employed, won't. There's a 19th century look about it which particularly appeals to me - the quality of drawing you'd get in the old Strand magazine, for example; or the old Billy Bunter books, come to that... Another proof as well that if you really want to radiate light in your work, it really helps to have strong darks to set it alight. Did you, by the way, use a traditional pen? I've got dozens of them, and why I don't use them more is frankly beyond me! You've inspired me to get 'em out again, and have a play.

Thanks for your comments Robert, yes it was an old dip pen, done a good few years back and I agree it gave a very nice line. I did a series of drawings at the time and I really should get my old pens and ink pot out again too

what a delightful pen and ink study of these wild ponies Nick, lovely textures and light and shade
