Thanks for all the lovely comments. I only started painting last year and this particular piece was my first attempt at a portrait. Heather is my youngest daughter - and not always so cheerful, especially when it's time to get up for school. It's great to read such encouraging comments from experienced and talented artists. I have really enjoyed looking through all the portfolio's, of all the artists, and I can only hope that, one day, my work will be as accomplished. Thanks again.

I have to put my pennysworth in and say nice work to. A really fresh lively portrait, it seems to give an impression of a happy, lively little girl. despite her having to go to school

Only just found this. It's really lovely; such soft skin and gently graded tones. I like the way the hair blends softly into the background on eth right yet is more defined on the left. I'd maybe just tone down the teeth a little but be careful because it works as it is. The smile even reaches her eyes which is really difficult to do.
