Untitled life study by Neal McDannel
It was a life study example in a drawing class I taught. I was trying to demonstrate to the students the usefulness of the background in creating a narrative concept within their work, even if it was just originally a life study. I drew from a photo of myself and placed my image in the background creating a tension between the two portraiture's. This is a charcoal and graphite drawing.
