Domestic Situation II

One of your interesting takes on drawing, for me it is the basic skill of drawing and how great that can be, so many fine examples of that here in your portfolio

This is a black lithographic drawing plus a color tint. I want to cultivate a narrative whenever possible in my work. Themes like, "Highway to Heaven Series" and "Domestic Situation" are examples of two. The latter series was meant to explore tensions between couples that was inappropriate ie. mental or physical abuse. There are many craftsmen out there that draw or render exquisitely but it is important, I believe, to bring additional dimensions to your work whenever it makes sense. I have always been interested in sound composition and playing with the subject-maters relationship to the picture plain. Illusions or visual conundrums can also add to the strength of a piece. For instance in this drawing there is a rendering of an image on a drawing of a limestone. If I write any more I'm afraid i will bore you so thank you for looking at my work and if you would like to see more please go to: www.nealmcdannel.weebly.com
