A great fantasy portrait. You’ve created a caricature with human elements very well.

Nothing wrong with a bit of fantasy - what's the size and medium?

Another good one, great expression.

It works, it works, fear not. I've just read your full profile - the only issue I have with painting to please ourselves is that we end up with a huge quantity of completed boards, full sketch-books, proliferation of frames, etc. I was looking around my not overly large flat the other day, and wondering just how many more paintings I really wanted to add to this pile of unsold pictures. Most of mine don't sell, but like you - I've given up trying to please anyone else; my ambition to sell has upped and died, because I was finding myself painting pictures I thought might sell, rather than paintings I wanted to do. So I'm tripping over the damn' things now, but have at least opted out of the rat race element. Having said which, if anyone wants to buy one of mine the indecent haste with which I grasp their cash might be quite unnerving; but painting to please is indeed a chore, and I resign from it.

I am not sure what the medium is but this is very well done Nathan.

He has a look of a young Mr Bean!

Excellent work, do what pleases you , if others like it well that is a bonus.

Thank you so for your comments. They mean a lot and I wish Painters Online would let you reply to individuals. However Robert Jones you sound very similar to me in the way you work. Never give up!
