I'm not normally an admirer of painting from family photographs, but this has worked very well: it can be hard to cast the mind back to those small details that make all the difference in obtaining a likeness or liveliness; while I don't of course know your daughters and haven't seen the photograph, you've painted a very believable and charming interaction between the two girls.
