Another stunning street view.

Not a lover of detail myself so really glad you stopped - quite a stunning piece mike

You are right Mike - the painting speaks for itself, and there is just the right amount of detail for the viewer to read without distracting from the atmosphere. Another lovely addition to our stunning gallery.

Very atmospheric and I too am glad you didn't add any more detail. I only hope Waymouth has some sun sometimes...

Brilliant, moody picture, I just love it

Brilliant, full of atmosphere. Fantastic gallery

This feels just like the summer we are having up here. How much detail could be seen anyway with all this rain. ..and you are of course right about the ease with which one can overdo a painting. Very good.

Brilliant Mick and a good decision.

Superbly done, and it's replete with atmosphere.

You were right to stop. I can hear those cars tooting their horns :)

Superb Mick - that's what I'd describe as atmospheric. I just wish I could create such movement in a painting, Great portfolio of work.

What a fantastic painting, movement and atmosphere, Mike. Just brilliant. Reminds me of Alvaro Castagnet who works in watercolours and does lots of night scenes, water, cafes etc.

All your paintings are very well executed and interesting. It's great to see paintings from Oz. I've heard there's been a lot of bad weather in the east. Normally, I would have expected to see sunny views from Australia. I was in Western Australia and the Northern Territory durung April, and it was mainly sunny..

Full of atmosphere and wonderfully suggested detail without the detail really being defined (if you see what I mean). Super work.

Thanks for your overwhelming response on this one everyone..must appreciated! I know it suprised most people to image that Australia has such dowdy weather, but it's true. Winter has been the coldest I can remember in Adelaide and wet too! Looking forward to some sun.. never thought I would say that!

Have you been part-way through a painting and thought - hey, this looks ok as it is? but of course you still worked on it because it seemed you had only just started and there was so much more detail to put in. Well, there was so much more I could have done with this one, but left it as it was. It just has that atmosphere in it that can be elusive and completely lost when a painting is over worked. Misty Waymouth - 90x90cm acrylic on canvas.
