I recognise this building - it has a wonderful shape just like the sail on a ship. All the blues you have used are complimentary to this theme. Lovely loose painting.

We lived just across the desert from this Midori, and watched it being built. It's some building, and you've done a wonderful job with this portrayal; the blue and the brightness in the sky are so typical of Dubai. By the way, your flamingos were very good too!

I was there a number of years back, and your painting brings back memories, Midori. Your painting, in my opinion is also much, much nicer than the real thing! Thank you for your very kind comment on my painting. In answer to your question, I used a variation of burnt sienna, cobalt blue, prussian blue and aureolin from the Holbein range, lasur orange from the Schmincke range and dioxaline mauve from Old Holland. I played around with different combinations of these colors throughout the building to create the gradations, and I used Two Rivers paper.

You have captured the deep blue sky (which we never seem to see!) Lovely detail Midori.

Wonderful Midori, I love that blue.

This is beautiful use of the medium: happy chances, bold choices, informed colour usage. Bravissima!

THANKS!!! I like this very much. This is a post card size. I will try at least A4 size someday again. I like blue. It makes me relax. Yes, Kim, I would like to bold more these days. Happy Wednesday!
