Very expressive painting of the shopkeeper's face, and I like the simplicity of the shirt left with simple sketch markings on white paper.

I'm sure he'll love it Midori. Great portrait and I too like the way you've simplified the shirt so all the focus is on his interesting face.

Excellent - again, Midora. You make it look so easy. The emirates sun no doubt helps with the lighting 'drama', but the technique and the colours are just great. I was pleased you wrote about the scene and the subject, because when I first saw this I thought the blue flashes above his shoulder were epaulettes, and that he was perhaps a military man. A smiley flowershop keeper is much better! More please.

Another accomplished portrait Midori, and I have no doubt at all that he will be so happy to see your painting.

Hi Pat, Val, Duncan and Jane, Since his face turned to a bit complicated, I didn't paint his shirt. I didn't notice Duncan, certainly it seems epaulettes and a military man. He was wearing a very normal blue polo-shirt. What is the navy part? U---n, mistery, isn't it?

Al Ain Central Market. There are about 30 plant and flowersshops behind Bawadi shopping mall. I don't have a garden, so I can't but any plants. But yesterday, I went there with a friend who have a huge garden. I envy her. I bought a tiny mint pot to decorate on our dining table though. The shop keeper had a beautiful brown skin and nice friendly smile. The cap was making nice shadow. I just wanted to paint his face. I took his photos. I'm going to show this portrate next week. I hope he likes this.
