Lovely painting

I thought that I would post this painting after reading Geoff Hunt’s article ‘Unpromising Days’ in the October edition of the Artist magazine. While the two art groups that I belong to are closed down for the summer break, I had organised a programme of eleven ‘plein-air painting Saturdays’ and all was going well until session no.6! It was a very grey day, with prolonged drizzly showers, but I quickly drew the view between showers, then had to duck into a concrete shelter to put the paint on, although the rain was being driven into the shelter by the wind (see top left hand corner where the rain has left tiny spots!) This coming Saturday looks as though it will be a total wash-out, but I have my fingers crossed for fine weather during the last session on 15th Sept. (Radford Lake & Castle, Plymstock).
