Thank you Gudrun (aka Mick Mc Manus - changed a bit since those Saturday afternoon wrestling bouts with Jackie Pallo!), Dawn and Maureen - it's nice to be appreciated! Loving your work too, keep at it (every day we get better and better!) Incidentally, I could see from the start that Ron was going to be a fidget - so I quickly painted his shape as a 'blob' in a pale grey then spent my time painting the background and chaise around his shape until he had more or less settled (I never draw first, just go straight in with the brush). I then painted Ron himself using a big brush throughout and I think that I might use this method again in the future as it also stopped me from getting anxious!
