Mutton Cove - Contre-jour by Michael Battley
This painting was started standing inside the harbour at low tide but was finished in the studio as time and tide wait for no man! As you can see, the seabed is covered with old car tyres to give some protection to the boat’s hulls - which I think is unusual? Or maybe this is more common? Anyway, it is drying now and hopefully OK for displaying in the club’s exhibition in late July.
