Brings back memories Michelle. I was a patternmaker and, as an apprentice we had to make some of our own tools. A marking guage like this was one of them. Made out of Beech wood. (-:

It is good to see drawings of old tools. Well done Michelle. I have to correct Jim though. I too was a patternmaker but this is a mortice gauge not a marking gauge which only has 1 spur.
