What type of brush is it Michael, it has certainly worked well on the grasses? A complete change from the past week or so, I like it!

I like the sweeping lines in this, Michael. Also like the simple and effective tones and distance effects - what a varied portfolio you have

Thanks Michael, Christine and Pat. As for the brush I got the idea from a colleague - simply some bristles from a very stiff yard broom bound onto the end of a stick with some tape - no two bristles being the same length - I use the watercolour in various state of mix but much of it is almost at tube consistency - also I don't scrub too hard - just let the brush dance across the paper. You can get some very good effects with it especially if working in a sort of semi-abstract way.

I always love these quick and rapid sketches, throwing caution to the wing, and they invariably turn out so much more interesting and fresh. This is no exception Michael, nice simplistic work.

Lovely Painting Michael, so calm and relaxing to look at. :)

Love that pristine bleakness of this piece, Michael. It's extremely atmospheric.

Thanks all for your kind comments

Simply perfect!

I like this Michael.......loose but effective.

This just needs a "wow". Simple yet effective.

Somehow very dynamic. I like...very!

Did this last night to get away from dendritics and bees. Used my patent brush which comes in helpful for depicting tall grasses etc and just three colours: paynes gray, burnt sienna and cobalt blue. Well it's something different. Mounted in an 18 by 14ins frame
