Another Gray Day by Michael Edwards

Wow! So different from your lovely sunlit pieces, Michael, but equally appealing. Love the atmosphere and the immediacy of the piece.

Please would you re post this in the middle of summer.. Though I do like those figures they always bring scenes to life. Though maybe they should be bent double battling the elements.

Very nice Michael and so different for you. The buildings, figures and car are perfect. Just the post box isn't quite right to my eyes and possibly to yours now. Perhaps some more shadow beneath it? I do like that car though!

New year, new subject for you then Michael. I do like the cars - they look so subtle just nestling there in the corner. Satu has a point, the post box needs a shadow to anchor it down - it was the first thing to hit me too! Great mood to this one though.

When I look at the recent postings by Joseph Broderick and Barry Langroyd Hanson I am not sure that My humble effort deserves such kind comments but a big thank you nonetheless. I have to agree about the post box - essential as it is it is a little too dominant and requires a bit of 'pegging' down but that's easily remedied. Anyway I was reasonably pleased with the result given that I was painting in a style that is new to me and takes me out of my usual comfort zone.

Well done Michael for breaking out into something new in the middle of such a gloomy winter. Lots of lovely blue here so it really appeals to me.

It is good to try something different and you've made a real success of this Michael.

This is great Michael! Love the washes on the right hand walls......very descriptive of age. Really admire how you try different techniques and styles.

I do like it! Very simple and strong and extremely effective.
