Captures the place perfectly. These quick sketches often get to the heart of a subject in the way more considered drawings or paintings struggle to do.

It was interesting to see Frank Bingley's sketch in Trafalgar Square and his experience with on-lookers. I was also in London on Thursday and after a visit to Tate Modern I made my way to St James Park. Whilst there I did this 5 minute sketch and when I had nearly finished it there was a flash over my shoulder. I looked around to se a couple scurrying away. I guess they didn't realise that their flash was switched on and were as surprised as me when it went off - hence their rapid departure. Hope the photo turns out okay. Done with a stub of a 2B pencil
