What a beautiful result, Michael. This was a real eye-catcher. My first impression: the shadows of poppy-heads + oil drops in coloured water?

I would say similar to Mia, defintely poppy seed heads (I think - now I am doubting myself) as to the patterns, cream in coffee before stirred, just guessing now,

So, Michael, you spilt your creamy coffee all over your wife's newly washed floor, then brought in some thistle heads to appease her...

I to like the results some time we can fiddle and take to long!!

Reflection of poppy heads in a cappuccino on a sunny day !!

I like puzzles......I agree with most about the shadows of poppy seed heads, but reflected in the remnants of the Sunday roast, roasting tin.

You are all fairly close with Mia probably being the closest. After yesterday's lunch I took the plates out to the kitchen and was quite taken with the patterns left in the empty salad bowl but felt it needed something to give added interest. On the kitchen windowsill we have a bowl of poppy heads and with the sun shining through the window they threw great shadows across the worktop. I simply put the two together and took a few photos of the result and voila!! Oh yes - the salad bowl: it contained remnants of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. I bet it's a first on POL for these mediums! Just a bit of fun

Art at it's best. You have a great artist's eye for beauty.

It's a very eyecatching and artistic piece, Michael! And it's a brilliant and creative way to use the residual salad dressing! Love it!

A very unusual subject Michael but a definite winner. Are you going to paint it now?

Excellent stuff Michael, look like dog rose hip shadows on a puddle of oil and dirty water. best Mick

Little time to indulge myself in convential media and visits to the studio at present - so playing with other possibilities I had fun coming up with this in a few snatched moments and rather liked the result - hope you do. Any ideas welcome - answers on a posting tomorrow.
