Fungi by Michael Edwards

Look forward to the watercolour version Michael. There are some fantastic colours in fungi. Took some photos of some in the New Forest a couple of years ago, well worth a painting!

Agree with Mia on this one Michael, " less is more " but this works for me, like the quick simple lines a lot and would also like to see the watercolour version . .

Thanks everyone - I do always try to simplify a subject. When I am painting from a photograph for example I will reduce the picture down to a simple sketch and use this to paint from - I very rarely ever refer back to the photo as I find this makes you too fussy and restrictive in palette, interpretation etc

I have no idea why, but I always have a soft spot for mushroom and toadstools paintings and this one really hits a spot! Love the clean, precise lines, which capture the shapes and essence superbly. Fabulous and fun, Michael!
