Yes it's a lovely result Michael with the inks.

Thanks Carole - I wonder how it would turn out using oils - has anyone tried?

I've been using Golden Liquid Acrylics which are similar in consistency to acrylic inks. I think the consistency of the paint used is the key. This has worked beautifully and the pen work adds to the overall effect.

hi this worked out brilliantly lovley work xx

Thanks Christine and Paula - one thing - it certainly won't feature as a chosen one in the selection probably wrong format, wrong subject , and it's the wrong day...! you'll understand this if you have been following the forum.

Great suggestions of winter trees Michael

I can see that it works differently Michael, and this is quite a bit different, I do like it.

Is it actually on a blue base Michael? It certainly enhances it.

The dendro-mania is on! Definitely an original work we have here. Well done!

Super work, Michael! I really like the way you added the penwork. It really pulls the whole piece together beautifully. I haven't made a YouTube video on how I produced my latest monoprint (because I haven't figured out how to!) but if you're interested in the process, I have described it in my posting. I hope it helps!

A slightly different result with inks but just as interesting and the added penwork enhances it even more. I'm busy searching for some suitable glass, after breaking the pieces I'd been using, as I was wondering if it would work with gouache.

Very effective Michael. It has got an autumnal look with the sun shining low and hitting the branches.

I can definitely see the woody branches and tree shapes. This style makes interesting (and I suspect unpredictable) shapes and it takes some imagination to see a scene or objects in it. Lots of fun I bet.

Very woody. Thanks for explaining how you did it.

This has turned out really well Michael. I tried it with Quink ink but I think it was too thin, just made a mess everywhere. I have a tin of old system 3 acrylics and the atelier acrylics, I've been using those, basically to get rid of them! I tried mono printing with oils....a sticky mess.

I think I'm going back to watercolours to break the habit - what with Dendritics and bees I'm turning into a bit of a junky.

The difference being that I used acrylic ink just to see how it would turn out. My very first attempt and a sort of okay outome which reminded me of a forest so I added a bit of acrylic paint in places to accentuate the theme plus a bit of penwork. Ink does react a bit differently to paint but it was worth having a go with it.
