Great form and super fence Michael. Might try this paper, off white is good and I need something robust, Thanks

A super result, Micheal. Splendid piece of work.

Like it very much.

I like this Michael, really skilful work.

Thanks everyone - a useful piece of work which I enjoyed. Glad you like the fence John - I was in two minds whether to include but decided to do so but was very careful to include the angular strut in front of the burnt sienna bush - without it the fence would not have worked - all painted negatively.

You are a man of commendable patience - I would have found the negative painting something of a trial at that length of fence: I'd have cheated, and thrown in a bush or two.. You got on with the Saunders paper in the end, then? I think it's worked very well in the sky, and helped perhaps to give you some warmth.

Yes I got on with it in the end Robert - will try the pure white version next time round. In this one I just wished I'd made the road a tone or two darker but it was only a try out / practice piece so no harm done. And yes the fence was a bit of a pain.

Nice work michael . lovely airy feeling . patient fencing work. I would be using acrylic or white gouache !

This is lovely, Michael. You have captured that fresh spring feeling. I like the contrast of with the last colours of winter, just hanging on. There are a few young Beech, reluctant to let go of their brown and wrinkled leaves.

I haven’t used this paper for years, you’ve produced a superb result Michael.....especially that fence!

Thanks so much Syd, CA and Fiona. I'm glad I decided to actually make a feature of the fence - thankfully it has a bit of a character of its own.

Has a very nice feeling of light Michael, a very nice piece of work.

I have just bought some Saunders Waterford paper and have never used it before so thought I'd give it a try-out by having a go at Colin Steed's project in the LP . The paper is the off-white version which doesn't give the sparkle which I like but apart from that it's a robust paper and very forgiving. I also found it great for mixing washes direct on the paper.
