I was sure to have commented on this before but apparently not. This is a beautifully observed and painted still life Michael! The leaves are so lovely and you have got the dark shadows under them so well. Superb!

So different for you Michael. I love the washes in the leaves and especially that pot. Great work.

Totally fabulous, Michael! Love your control of the washes to create the lost and found edges and the wonderful merging of warm and cool hues.

I thought I'd put this aside, as it were, and come back to comment on it having just 'liked' it, and then find you already shunted off to page 10 or 11 - you've got to be quick on here these days! Anyway, tracked you down - I do admire your willingness to try new things, and this has really come off very well. I know you could have made this a much 'tighter', more academic study if you'd wanted to, but this loose approach is much better at conveying the liveliness and growth of the plant, and it's a more pleasing image too. Well done for having a good crack at something a bit different.
