Working for the madam by Michael Hanrahan
This portrait is a scene from a story. A common one unfortunately , of young women who become prostitutes. The woman i have painted is abit too young looking for comfort. Art is supposed to reflect the times we live in, or at least that is one avenue. Yet prostitution has been around since the dawn if civilisation. I tried to give an innocence to the young woman but i must admit ive painted what looks almost like a minor in my opinion. The hard reality of the world is something ive tried to express here.
