Great atmosphere and wonderful colour, Michael. I can see the bird but it looks more like a loon than a kingfisher, I think. The loon has the most haunting call of all the birds I've ever heard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ENNzjy8QjU Brian

Thankyou brian im glad you like it. A loon you say? I dont know my birds very well im afraid. The fact that it has the most haunting call probably matches the mood of the picture better.

That's exactly what I was thinking, Michael. I tried to post a link in my original reply but it didn't take. I must be doing something wrong. Bri

Its ok brian dont worry. It could be any bird, any soul in fact, a symbol for any living creature, alone but not lonely, enjoying the quiet. This may seem odd to say but how can anyone be lonely when even the atmosphere that surrounds us is a living thing. Theres comfort in that.

I adore nature, animals and especially plants. I bought a geranium and shes sitting on my window sill with a single flower emerging from a shoot. Sorry for these miniature bios in the description but i find them therapeutic to write.
