Thanks for all the lovely comments. I think working with complimentary violet and gold has produced an interesting effect. Why not try using just two complimentary colours in your own work and see the effects you can acheive.

I love the effect of thick impasto marks for the sparkling light, contrasting with the softer purple brushwork for the wet sand underneath. Figures are simple silhouettes with very little detail and yet they work!
