Mouthwatering! I love sardines, and I love your painting of them too. You have really caught the colours and the iridescence very well.

Thank you for your comments. Yes, i used wax for the highlights. I applied the wax in 2 stages. It was applied before I started painting. Then another wax application was done on top of dried paint.

These sardines looked so beautifully shiny and silvery, and I tried to catch that and the subtle iridescent colours. I had to paint them very quickly while they were very fresh and before they started smelling. Then I cooked them for dinner and they were delicious!
