Venice - Grand Canal - Reflections I

Thank you for all your comments. Venice is such a wonderful place and although it is very tempting to paint the actual scene, which I may still do, at the time I was absolutely bowled over by the reflections in the canals.

I love Venice too - I think it's my favourite place. I agree there are so so many amazing painting opportunities but the water, the water is just fantastic, like coloured oil and your paintings bring a complete sense of the place. Love them. I'll stop now !

Hi Beverley - I was only in Venice for a few days and just loved the place, then went to Burano and was gob-smacked by the colours of the houses and their reflections in the canals. Both Venice and Burano are on my list of 'must see' places again.... and the sooner the better!
