watercolour on Khadi A3 paper, which I regretted as soon as the brush touched it, given how precise and complex the image is. i should have used the piece of Saunders I had with me: much more forgiving! Unfinished, as we only had a couple of hours there, so I'll have to try to find time to finish it off this week

Matthew Sewell
Watercolourist since the 90's, and have just taken up oils a couple of years ago. I regularly paint en plein air with a local group called the Artful Dodgers, and aim to paint at least twice a week now I'm heading for retirement.
