Nice feeling of sunlight on the turret walls and very nicely done water and reflections.

I painted this and one other on a day trip to Scotney on 12th July, an unexpectedly scorching day. It was all painted on site, on Saunders paper in transparent watercolour paints over the course of the morning

About the Artist

Matthew Sewell

Watercolourist since the 90's, and have just taken up oils a couple of years ago. I regularly paint en plein air with a local group called the Artful Dodgers, and aim to paint at least twice a week now I'm heading for retirement.
