'Paint Tube' - Still Life Digital Painting

Like this - know very about digital art but if this kind of thing can be achieved am very impressed

I don't know much about digital art, but you have achieved a great result here with this tube of paint, and the sheen of the silver and creased tube looks great! Well done!

Thanks both. There are a lot of misconceptions about digital art being somehow cheating. Indeed after posting this on Facebook an artist friend of mine's comment was....'but its not real'. Yes, this painting was created on a computer using Photoshop, but with a pressure sensitive surface and a pen, so the feel of creating it is very similar to that of using a pencil or a brush. Each stroke of the painting is applied individually and it takes great skill (which I hope to gain) to control the properties of each brush stroke, line thickness, opacity, flow and mixing of 'paint' etc. I just see it as an exciting modern medium that is there for artists to explore. If throughout history artists had not experimented to express themselves we would all still be spitting dye from our mouths onto cave walls leaving prints of our hands.

Been wrestling with my new graphics tablet that I treated myself to (X-Pen DECO 01). This digital painting malarky is quite difficult!!! But this being only my second ever digital painting attempt, I'm quite pleased with the impressionistic nature of it and the quality of the light on the paint tube. Looking forward to more experimentation.
