Lovely oil portrait Matthew, great skintone especially on his face, love how you captured his moustache and beard as well they work particularly well, good work on all his facial features

A painting a day - ugh.... Trouble is, when you set yourself a target like that and then don't meet it, it does tend to depress and put you off; maybe a more modest target, say two paintings a week (which has been my average for some time now) would be a bit gentler on you. Like this study, although I think the collar-bones and upper torso get a bit indistinct - ie anatomically slightly off-beam; but I'm in hyper=critical mode for some reason: my back's being a swine again! The head itself is excellently done, beautifully modelled and exact without being tight. I do like the hair, as well - that just out of the wind or shower look....

Been woefully unproductive artistically this summer since my failed painting a day experiment in June!! This painting was done in September in oils on A4, acrylic primed grayboard. I was quite pleased with the likeness.
