Grey Morning Field with Tree - 7th June

Grey Morning Field with Tree - 7th June

Lovely latest addition to your month of painting one a day Mathew, especially the main tree and the tracks in the field, and yes it does look grey and drizzly and hopefully something we are not going to actually see for quite some time!

You can paint too carefully - the trick is to paint loosely without being slapdash, and I think this works extremely well; a totally successful painting.

I agree. This captures the atmosphere well.

I also like this Matthew, well painted main tree and hedge and misty background. Perhaps the tracks could lead to something more dramatic? Enjoy your sketching on holiday, look forward to seeing them. I've been trying to paint more, recently, but not managed the every day thing though, I admire your discipline.

A little scrappy and rushed for the 7th daily painting today, but at least its done:) Its also pretty big for me of late at approximately 40 x 27cms on acrylic primed grayboard. Even though its not particularly carefully painted, it does convey the atmosphere of the grey drizzle threatening morning when the photograph was taken.
