You're beginning to sound how I did at this stage in the challenge. I think the water could do with a bit more colour and reflection but not a bad effort if you haven't done watercolour for a while. Personally I think it's the hardest medium to work with and I nearly always end up using ink with it.

I know, I know.. a daub this time, but deliberately so. I've not touched watercolours for such a long time and I'm going away on hols later in the month. I expect I'll only be able to take watercolours for quick sketches while I'm away? This was not so much about faithfully representing a scene, which is actually from a photo I took looking across the Avon towards Hampton Lucy from Charlecote Park. It was more about just getting the feel of mixing watercolours, how weak or strong they need to be, how quick they dry etc etc When I embarked upon this painting a day project it was never about having finished, sellable products at the end, but a way of making me experiment and do at least something creative every single day. I've done a fair bit of concentrated stuff, so I'm having a play for a change with todays?:)
