Barden Tower, near Bolton Abbey in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, is a ruined hunting lodge that once belonged to the owners of Skipton Castle. Built in the 15th century, this fortified tower was once surrounded by a curtain wall with two gateways. One gateway is all that now remains and the tower itself is in ruins and inaccessible. Painted on location this afternoon. Pen, brush and ink with wax resist on Bockingford paper. 15" x 22"
