you've captured the Llangollen weather, too, as I remember it! Another strong work, reminiscent of John Piper in feeling.

The evocative ruins of 13th century Valle Crucis lie in lush green fields beneath Llangollen's steep sided mountains. Valle Crucis, the 'Valley of the Cross', is named after Eliseg's Pillar, a 9th century Christian memorial cross which stands nearby. This is a 'studio' piece; I didn't have time to paint whilst we were there, but I grabbed a quick sketch, some photos and some time just to soak up the tranquil atmosphere. Mixed media - mainly ink wash and gouache, with dashes of oil pastel. 15" x 11"
