Cliff Farm - Version 2

Cliff Farm - Version 2

I like them both, I love the rain on this one with the rain's misty effect on background trees. Very typical of around here!!

The strength of this one lies in the path leading to the house, and the welcoming touches of red. Is that streak of pure blue perhaps a little too strong.... I think I'd have liked to see it just fractionally more diffused into the wash.

I think this is my favourite caught my eye immediately. Lovey composition so very well done.

I prefer this one although they are both lovely. I like the detail in the foreground and the slightly warmer doors. Particularly like the recesion in the trees.

This one is the better of the two but I do agree with Robert about the blue streak. Youhave captured a lovely rainy sky here.

Two lovely watercolours in their own right but I to prefer this one. I also happen to like that blue streak, but then I'm a sucker for anything blue, my favourite colour, the brighter the better!!

Thanks for these comments - I too regret the blue streak but I wasnt brave enough to try and wash it out as the wash dried!

I like both very much, the first one more so, I think. The focus of interest is different in each one, and I fail to see how they can be compared. I agree the strong blue streak is unfortunate, and I think I would attempt to gently bleach it out?

Agree with all of the above and would take out or subdue the blue streak as it catches my eye, I would wet the area and gently take out with a small damp acyrlic brush, I find the flats good for this. If you get a bleached look in that area you could apply a thin wash over that area or the whole sky.

I painted this scene twice - I would be interested in any views as to which is prefered - the other version is in the gallery....
