Thank goodness for a painting I can understand! There seem to be a lot of very deep and meaningful paintings being posted at the moment which are too much for my obviously pedestrian brain - but dogs I can do! I just love this painting. The dogs are wonderfully painted and show such character. I presume it is a commission and if so I bet the recipient is over the moon with it.

Couldn't be a lot better, could it? Every detail perfectly done, conveying the character of these great dogs - gentle souls: just as well, given their size. . I particularly liked Stephen's comment - it made me think of the late Dan Maskell, the tennis player and latterly commentator: "Oh, I say!"
