Wonderful portrait, Marjorie, this one is very amazing!

Thank you very much Stephen, Janet, Tony - J.S. Sargent is an artist to get inspiration from. And Jim, thanks, Jennifer, Margaret, Dennis and Cesare too. Had a bit of a block, it's a good way to get started again!

Hi there, you're good...well done. However, on a technical note, this may not be Rosina Ferrara. She has sometimes been named Rosina, but is likely to have been one of the local Capri girls. Your copy is from the painting entitled "Head of a Capri girl" 1878, (ref JSS 713 Ormond Kilmurray). The alternative picture is called "Head of a Sicilian girl" 1878, (ref JSS 714 Ormond Kilmurray).... great it's it !

That's interesting Joe. She certainly doesn't resemble very much the profile views of "Rosina". Whoever she was, Singer Sargent made a beautiful painting.

Gorgeous! I love Singer Sergeant too!

Many thanks, Ivan, Linda and Russell!

This is a great portrait, Marjorie.

Oil on canvas sheet. A version of J. Singer Sargent's "Rosina". I really enjoyed doing this, tho' it looks more like Rosina's sister - we'll say it's my version of her.
