This turned out Very Nice! I feel a little bit of Sargent here. (It is a pain with me to paint, but I am driven to do it...)

It is a difficult pass time at times Marjorie but you wouldn't know it with your work. Always first rate great work on all the elements distance colours and figure. Stunning work

Lovely palette.

Thanks Skylar - yes, I'm driven to it too. As always, thanks Dennis. Karen, in the end I just used the colours I liked, never mind the reality.

A super painting Marjorie, great wet sand!

Beautiful Marjorie, very atmospheric and wonderful colours.

Thank you Margaret and Cesare for your very kind comments.

Fabulous work. No pain no gain.

I'm not usually drawn to oils, but this really attracted me. Love the reflections in the sand and palette.

A wonderful atmospheric shore Marjorie, great reflections and mood.

Nice soft feel to this scene Marjorie, I like the shimmering wetness. You've painted it beautifully.

Excellent painting Marjorie, you have captured the feel of wet sand and sea environment beautifully.

Timothy, Jennifer, Fiona, many thanks! Where have you been Fiona? And thanks for those nice comments Willie, Paul and Dennis. No brushwork Dennis.

The joys of being an artist Marjorie. (-: Looks pretty good anyway.

Jim, I'm hoping the problem solving is good for the old brain!

No problems here! It's all been said. Bright and warm.

you should feel rather pleased with the end result very atmospheric the figure and dog pull it together

A wonderful painting the colours are beautiful it has a lovely calming feel about it. But by the sound if you weren't feeling that calm when when painting it!

Thank you Gudrun and David. Annette, no I wasn't, especially as I'd scraped off two previous attempts ( which were very different ). I think I wasted 4 hours before I said "sod it!" And just relaxed and enjoyed using the paint.

So well painted and atmospheric Marjorie- I want to be there !

Too windy today Lynne - but sunny! Thanks for the comment.

This is one beautiful painting, Marjorie. Worth all the blood, sweat and tears.

Thanks Ellen, just wiping them away now.

A wonderfully serene atmosphere. Quite beautiful !

Well, I would say that your patience paid of, because this is stunning! And yes, sometimes painting is not fun, especially on those days when nothing goes your way...

A fabulous painting Marjorie

Thanks Avril, Jenny ( nice to see you again!) and Russell.

Lovely use of colours Marjorie, and a sense of being there, I can almost feel the wet sand between my toes.

Well, the final product turned out great, Marjorie! Love the serene quality about this piece.

Liam and Seok, many thanks. The beach here never has many people about, which is why I love it.

No fire but the other three. Palette knife, oil on canvas. Two earlier attempts scraped off before I left it. A frustrating day, did anyone call painting fun?
