This is truly lovely painting in its simplicity, Marjorie. I love the soft colours, the light and how it reflects on the surface. I don't know which acrylics you use but the quality, as in everything else, is the key. I use Liquitex Heavy Body paints and they are wonderful. Full of pigment and very easy to work with. For underpainting I use cheaper products but after that it's always Liquitex. If this is your first attempt with acrylics then it's Bravo! from me.

Beautiful painting Marjorie

Very effective Marjorie, looks good to me.

Satu, I meant it was my first go at this subject. I use acrylics and oils but at the moment I seem to prefer oils. However, because I did it in a rush, I didn't prime the cardboard. I have a mix of acrylics, some System 3, cryla, W&N, and just recently I bought a set of Amsterdam, which are nice. I tend to paint with acrylics when I want speed and oils when I can take more time. Thanks everyone, though, for your nice responses.

I'm really enjoying your still life paintings Marjorie. This is very effective in it's simplicity.

Simple and so effective!

This is better...a change in viewpoint...sorry...meant perspective. I prefer the low angle and monochrome. Back of an old pad, indeed...you spoil yourself!

Great minimalist work!!!!

well painted Marjorie

Done on the cardboard back of old art pad. Acrylic seems so thin when compared with oil. Will try this again in oil.
