Lovely restrained , and very effective Marjorie.

Thanks Sylvia, can't wait to add colour.

Looks lovely Marjoire, a nice composition

Always great study with technical aspects Marjorie another well on the way

Thanks Dennis, David and Michael, must restrain myself a bit tomorrow!

A great way to paint, and it's looking good. When I occasionally use this teqnique I use acrylic for the Grisaille, but notice you ve used an alkyd white, which I don't think is available yet in water sol. Oils . Still, lovely to see this technique being used.

Love the design and subdued tonal values Marjorie, works well even before colour is applied.

Thanks for sharing your technique, Marjorie. Nice composition.

A good piece of still life Marjorie

Thankyou Andre, Alan Cesare and Derek. I have to say this is not my usual method but it makes a change. I probably won't use glazes, I'll just add colour - tomorrow.

Well, not everything goes to plan Gudrun. I was a bit despairing yesterday, added some colour and left it. Haven't looked at it yet but may paint the little cloth out - decisions, decisions....strange sometimes that a satisfying start can stall.

Oil, 20"x20", before the colour is added. Using alkyd White for quick drying.
