Those bottles again.

Those bottles again.

Painting glass is an art all of its own. I have tried it a few times not always successful. You have done a wonderful job with this painting what looks to me, old vessels. I like the tonal quality of the painting this adds to the mystery of the objects. Lovely work.

You are a very competent artist Marjorie. You know what Catherine Tait says - 'well I can do that'. Well I can't do that. Well done.

looks good to me Mrjorie love these bottles

Marjorie lovely piece of artwork

My experience of painting glass only goes as far as doing an empty wine bottle....twice.....neither turned out! I would be bowled over to create something like this Marjorie.....superb, especially the reflections.

A lovely painting Marjorie, love the way you have captured the glass, never the easiest to paint well but you have, like it .

The big bottle does have a flat look to it Marjorie but I would not like to try it, love the other two and the overall colour use I think the reflections through the glass are great nice one.

But they are magical Marjorie

The painting is very good Marjorie, the bottles are beautiful and realistic, and the reflections are superb. It is all right, Marjorie, you have reached a beautiful style.

You keep doing them, they inspire me.

Love it Marjorie, the shadows and light reflections are brilliant! Never ask the in-house art critic for his opinion, he will rarely give the right answer!

Still lovely varied shades in your bottle Marjorie, love your bottle shadows.

Many thankyous to all Of you - Carol, Michael, Dennis and Jenny - Fiona, I thought you meant you drank the wine and never got round to the painting! And thanks Graham, Malcolm( it is flattish in reality, not a sphere, but it isn't quite right ), Dennis, Cesare, Peter....I'll post then turn the page.

Sorry about that....Thankyou Christine - dare I say his function is to be ignored ( no, not really ) and thanks Carole.

Beautiful, Marjorie, full of light and love the soft colours.

I did....LOL!!!

And should that be followed by a hiccup?

Makes a very satisfying painting.

Thanks for the comments Sylvia, Gudrun, Jenny and Dermot. One I really enjoyed doing.

I think you've done a super job, Marjorie. The translucency of the glass and the refracted light are beautifully rendered.

Wow, Marjorie!!! This is gorgeous work! Also, Congratulations on your write-up, which I have just read. Well deserved! I think your reflections are beautiful.

Jennifer, thanks very much!

Great article in this month's On-Line Newsletter, Marj. Hope they'll ask you for more.

Your grasp and knowledge of light is incredible.

Hang on Studio Wall

Oil, 40cm X 40cm. Not happy yet, will have to resort to fiddling again - the large bottle is not 3 D apparently ( according to my in- house art critic. I think he may be right.
