Hi Marilyn. Love your work. Your 'Try Your Hand At....Larmer Tee Musicians' was the first challenge that enthused me enough to submit a painting and seek feedback. I then discovered this website and they've had to put up with me ever since. You featured my painting in Paint magazine and I'm still chuffed about that. Your work often (but not always) involves vibrant colours. What made you choose to paint this scene in more subdued colours?

I do like your dry brush work Marilyn - something I must try more often - it has certainly helped in capturing this busy scene - great painting

Blue tones for blues music, great atmosphere!

Hi Paul Thank you for your comments. I still really enjoy vibrant colours. but sometimes you can get more impact by using a limited palette. So pleased the Larmer tree musicians inspired you to have a go. I must admit was really pleased with the response of the entries.

Lovely loose capturing of this great scene Marilyn
