Historical strong women, one an America and the other British. Amelia was at the time America’s First Lady of the Air. Whilst Amy was flying 'Seafarer' from South Wales to USA, when they met. Both characters have influenced women’s roles in society and aviators around the world. Both died inexplicably, on the 2nd July 1937 Amelia disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, and on the 5th January 1941 Amy was flying for the ATA her plane crashed into the Thames Estuary. To this day their deaths remain a mystery.
