Your first ever and this is really well done. Agree with the above really study where the ear is in relation to her eyes nose and mouth etc. Love the hair.

I'd guess you were using a photograph here - some of the forms get a bit lost, the ear especially looks too small (although ears do vary... mine are huge). For a first try this is remarkable - you should certainly try more, watching the way the head meets the neck, for example. Most first portraits make a real botch of the nose, and you haven't done that .. You're more than half way there; you've conveyed the character of your sitter, which is more than many of us can do. Congratulations indeed.

Thank you so much love doing them, this lady’s eyes just “came’ through the paper and I was half expecting her to say hello scary stuff! Don’t laugh I select pictures out of magazines haven’t managed a likeness I like to work and then take a break spending a long time pondering so a sitter won’t tolerate me and I don’t like anyone around me when I work I get nervous and make a blotch up!!!!
