This is lovely - a very nice bit of historical narrative painting, very much up my street.

Yes indeed Heather. I've painted several versions of Jean-François Millet's "The Angelus" and this reminds me very much of that.Great work on the water Margo.

Like the contrast of the figures against the lovely water on the sand. Reminds me of Millet too!

Thanks for the lovely comments, this was done from a very old photograph that I found in a book of old seafarers.

This is a lovely painting Margo. I can sense the life in the figures and I love the sea and the wetness of the shore.
