Excellent drawing.

My father knew Lloyd George - no he didn't, but he did know the Leach family in Bristol from which Cary Grant, aka Archie Leach, came. The first time I saw him, he was playing opposite the wonderful Mae West - and he had enormous presence: to make any impression against Mae, you had to have presence. And you've caught the secret here - I can't define it, he wasn't blatant, never brash, but whenever he was on screen you were captivated by him; and I think it was Mae West who actually spotted that, and gave him first break. Clever woman - and he became a great actor; brilliantly portrayed in this drawing.

Excelllent! I am in awe of you artistis who get such a sparkle in monochrome.

Brilliant drawing. Amazing reflections on the face and glossy hair

Magnificent work Mal.

A lovely portrait of one of my favourite film stars - now I am showing my age.

Thank you for your kind comments. Very interesting story Robert Jones, my grandfather was a cinema projectionist back in the 20's/30's and I have a picture of him standing in front of a poster promoting a Mae West/Cary Grant feature.

I couldn't resist this portrait with it's dramatic lighting of Cary Grant from a photograph by Robert Coburn in 1935. It will be delivered framed.
