I really like this Malcolm - I am a fan of mixed media, especially where collage is used, being a fan of the work of Mike Bernard and Chris Forsey. I like the veils of colour you h ave achieved through glazing, and the newsprint coming through from underneath help to go give added texture. As for tips all I would say is 'keep doing what you are doing' because the results are great!

Malcolm you have inspired me to go reaching for my scissors and the ever rising pile of magazines here. This is beautifully done. I agree that glazing instead of painting in solid colour achieves very satisfying results. Good to see you being adventurous and trying different mediums. What is your base here, canvas board, or cardboard? Well done.

Wow Malcolm, love it! Like Julie I too enjoy mixed media and find it offers so many more possibilities. You've achieved a lovely interesting colourful painting that really works!

Colourful and original. A real eye-catcher Malcolm.

I really, really, really think this is great! Do you have a facebook art page or website?

I really like this - I have a similar scene waiting to be painted and I have been dwelling on how to introduce bright colours in it. but you have done it. Well done.

Eye-catching painting. Love it!

A really strong painting with excellent design sense. All the mixed media you have used gives the work such interest value - I should just keep doing more of the same as it is so successful.

This is great, your use of collage seems to be rewarding for the veiwer as well as yourself. Lovely

A really lovely picture .You have captured the light beautifully, which I would think is difficult with collage. You have inspired me to try this method of using acrylics which I find tricky. I usually paint in watercolour.

Collage with magazine cuttings, coloured tissue paper and acrylic with a gloss medium. I am new to acrylics so any tips would be helpful.I found glazing with colour and medium to be more rewarding then painting in solid colour but thats because I normally paint in watercolour.
