Gorgeous painting, and inventive technique.

Brilliant composition Malcolm, I like very much the centre of light that comes radiating out of this painting with lovely soft mutes colours framing the light. The salt has added greatly to the texture, and lifting out the sky to define the hawthorn tree has worked very well. Much more interesting than if you had painted the tree in onto the sky. I like the palette very much, the colours are very pleasing.

Wow! Wouldn't this make a fantastic design for a silk garment, such as a Kaftan or Kimono or long flowing gown,or even a scarf! This is so lovely.

I looked and then read your comments. I had wondered how you got that texture. Great.

Abstract flowers - that's what springs to my mind. Just a wonderful design and equally wonderful colours.

1/4 imperial watercolour using the shape of the foxglove and ingoring the colour. I have used salt for texture and lifted the sky using a 1/2 inch flat brush to defind the hawthorn tree.
